Holiday Hot Pads At The Sheriff’s Office

Port Orchard, WA…The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office recently was the surprised recipient of several boxes of crocheted (kitchen) Hot pads that were made available for distribution to agency personnel, thanks to the generosity and hard work of a very gracious North Kitsap crocheter.

Ms. Jan Osburn of Poulsbo inquired earlier of a member of the Rotary Club of East Bremerton what she could do to show her appreciation to sheriff’s deputies for the upcoming holiday season. Jan then asked if deputies might like the Hot pads that she crochets by hand… a specialty of hers. The Rotary person assured Jan that they would be a big hit, and were they ever!

Delivered through the Rotary connection, all said there were more than 50 of the crocheted masterpieces in a variety of colors and design patterns, perfect placement receptacles for that mug of hot coffee, tea or cocoa, the re-heated leftovers, or for removing that steaming dish from the oven.
Jan made sure that the Hot pads came in matching sets of two per each design.

With grateful appreciation, Jan, for the countless hours that you spent in crocheting these very useful hand-made accoutrements! Simple and understated, they will hold a very useful place in our everyday lives for many years.
Thank you!
